Balochistan National Army commander surrenders to Pakistani government

A high-ranking commander of Balochistan National Army (BNA) group which is banned in Pakistan, Sarfraz Bangulzai, also known as Murid Baloch, surrendered to the government along with 70 of his associates.

 

Speaking at a press conference in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan, Bangulzai said he regretted his actions and called on other members of the group to “lay down their arms and return to normal life.”

 

Acting Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar posted on social media X (formerly Twitter) noting that “the surrender of Sarfraz Bangulzai aka Murid Baloch along with his associates and their family members is a welcome development for Pakistan and Balochistan.” The Prime Minister also praised the performance of Pakistani law enforcement and intelligence agencies, whose efforts contributed to the surrender of the BNA leader.
