The case of a Latvian citizen who called for terrorism transferred to the prosecutor's office

The State Security Service (SSS) requests to launch criminal prosecution of a person who converted to Islam for glorifying terrorism and distributing materials calling for terrorism.

The accused came under scrutiny for sharing videos on the TikTok platform that glorified the narratives of Islamist groups.

During the investigation, the intelligence service found that the person in question was systematically and purposefully distributing materials glorifying terrorism and calling for attacks.

A criminal trial has been initiated against a Latvian citizen for justification and incitement to terrorism. The defendant faces imprisonment for up to five years. He has been taken into custody.
