The property of terrorists to be used to compensate for the damage caused to the state

Legal amendments on using the assets of terrorists to compensate for the damage caused to the state were adopted in the third reading at a parliamentary meeting.

Report informs, the draft amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code were discussed at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis.

In accordance with the amendment, if a court verdict proves the guilt of persons hiding from investigation or prosecution outside the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in cases provided for by criminal law, their property will be confiscated and directed to compensate for damage to victims and the state, as well as to secure a civil claim.

First of all, this concerns persons who have committed crimes against humanity, against the foundations and security of the constitutional system of the state, were convicted of terrorism and financing of terrorism.
