Taliban leader calls on terrorists to reduce attacks on Pakistan
The Afghanistan-based Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) should soften its strategy towards Islamabad and reduce attacks on Pakistani territory, Supreme leader of the Taliban movement Haibatullah Akhundzada called urged, TASS reports.
Recently, the Chairman of the Pakistani Islamist party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Council of Islamic Scholars) Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman visited Kabul. Through him, Akhundzada conveyed a message to the Pakistani leadership.
“Akhundzada emphasized that all Muslims were brothers and called on the Pakistani authorities and the TTP for dialogue which Kabul promised to facilitate. The Taliban leader said that he asked the TTP to soften its strategy towards Pakistan and reduce attacks on its territory,” a government source reports the contents of the message.
It is noted that Pakistan was not satisfied with the message of the Taliban leader and believes that this call will not yield results.
