Three security personnel injured in terrorist attack in western Afghanistan

At least three Afghan security officials were injured in a suicide attack that targeted the office of the governor of Nimroz province in the west of the country. This is disclosed in a statement by the Afghan Ministry of Internal Affairs.

 

“A suicide bomber attempted to attack the office of the governor of Nimroz province today, but security personnel identified and eliminated him before he could enter the building,” the statement said.

 

“Unfortunately, three security personnel were injured as a result of the attempted attack,” the statement said.

 

This is the fourth terrorist attack in war-torn Afghanistan in the past nine days, three of them in the capital Kabul.

 

Earlier, at least 10 people were killed in three explosions that occurred on different days in Kabul. The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the minibus bombing which killed five people and injured 15 others.
