PAKISTAN CONCERNED ABOUT THE TERRORISM THREAT FROM AFGHANISTAN

Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations Munir Akram said that Islamabad was still concerned about “the threat of terrorism from Afghanistan.” This was reported by Afghanistan International TV channel.

Munir Akram added that his country was suffering from Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (banned in Russia) attacks from Afghanistan, which were “confirmed by other sources.” He stressed that Daesh (banned in the Russian Federation) and the Tehreek-e Taliban Pakistan were a “real threat.”

The representative of Pakistan also said that the international community should help restore the Afghan economy. In order to do this, it is necessary to release its frosen funds and invest in the national financial system, he said.

The Pakistani diplomat urged countries around the world to provide $4.2 billion in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan at the request of the UN. He suggested that the international community take a “pragmatic approach” and that its priority should be to end the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
