19TH INTERNATIONAL MEETING ON SYRIA IS HELD IN ASTANA
The 19th round of the International Meeting on Syria in the Astana format has started in the capital of Kazakhstan and will last for two days.
It is attended by delegations of the guarantor countries of the Astana process (Russia, Iran and Turkey) and a delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic headed by Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Ayman Sousan. The Russian delegation is headed by Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev, the Iranian delegation is headed by the Iranian foreign minister's senior advisor for special political affairs Ali Asghar Hadji.
In addition, representatives of the Office of the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Syria, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the International Committee of the Red Cross, observers from Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan and other delegations arrived in Astana.
