The Eastern District Military Court in the Russian city of Chita sentenced a resident of Irkutsk to four years in a general regime colony on a criminal case of calls for terrorist activities, the press service of the FSB department for the Irkutsk region reports.
“It was established that this Irkutsk resident published posts calling to terrorist activities and justifying the acts of a terrorist organization on one of the Internet media. The guilt of the convict was confirmed by the results of a study of computer and communications equipment seized from him,” the report says.
The man was convicted under Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Public Calls for Terrorist Activities, Public Justification of Terrorism or Propaganda of Terrorism).
