Afghan political emigrants announce establishment of the Union of Supporters of Federalism

A number of Afghan political figures announced the establishment of a new political association called the “Union of Supporters of Federalism.” The creation of a new political movement was announced by the former second vice-president of Afghanistan Sarwar Danish.

According to the founders of the new political bloc, the only way to achieve stability and resolve the political crisis in Afghanistan is to change the administrative state system to a federal one.

Besides Sarwar Danish, the “union” included such persons as former members of the national parliament Mohiyuddin Mehdi, Latif Pedram, Nilofar Ibrahimi, Masooma Khawari and Zia Arianjad, former presidential adviser Abdul Malik, former Labor Minister Faizullah Zaki and a number of other political activists. Abdul Rashid Dostum, Atta Mohammad Noor, Mohammad Mohaqqiq and some other politicians expressed their support for the newly formed union by issuing a special statement.
