Supporter of international terrorism convicted in Khabarovsk
A native of one of the Central Asian republics was sentenced to a lengthy term of imprisonment in Khabarovsk for supporting international terrorism. The First Eastern District Military Court proved him guilty of financing the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami extremist organization (banned in Russia) which operates in Syria. The Khabarovsk Territory Today news agency reports this with reference to information from the press service of the regional FSB department.
“Based on materials from FSB Directorate in the Khabarovsk Territory, an adherent of a terrorist organization involved in facilitating terrorist activities in Russian Federation was convicted,” the report says. - In November 2022, officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Khabarovsk Territory detained a native of one of the Central Asian republics, who, acting in the interests of foreign terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami (banned in the Russian Federation), carried out deliberate actions aimed at providing financial assistance to the members of this terrorist group in the Syrian Arab Republic.
The terrorist group Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami, banned in our country, has been active in several Islamic countries since the middle of the last century. These terrorists declared their goal to be the revival of a unified caliphate with strict Sharia rules.
A migrant who financially supported this extremist group was sentenced to 9.5 years in prison.
