Turkey is uprooting terrorism

The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Turkish Republic Ali Erlikaya, announced that during the “Bozdogan-6” operation, the Turkish police arrested a total of 47 individuals suspected of having ties to ISIS terrorist group. Police operations took place in major provinces and cities, including Adana, Bursa, the capital Ankara, and Istanbul.

 

The activities were coordinated by the Intelligence and Security Directorate and the Counterterrorism Department. In Istanbul, 22 suspects collaborating with ISIS were detained, one was apprehended in Kirikkale, 15 in Ankara, two in Adana, and seven in Bursa.

 

The Minister of Internal Affairs stated that the authorities will continue countering terrorists to maintain peace and security in Turkey.

 

Turkey was one of the first countries to recognize ISIS as a terrorist organization. The group has repeatedly carried out terrorist attacks in the country, resulting in at least ten suicide bombings, seven bomb attacks, and four armed assaults, causing the death of over 300 people and injuring hundreds.

 

“Since June 1, 2023, a total of 1162 operations against ISIS have been conducted, leading to the arrest of 2402 suspects," wrote the head of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs on the social media platform X, thanking the police and congratulating them on their successful operations.
