Supporters of Syrian militants detained in 22 regions of Russia

Recently, 49 members of a terrorist network who were involved in raising funds for the needs of militants in Syria were detained in 22 regions of Russia, the press service of the Russian FSB reported.

According to the investigation, they liquidated an international financial support channel for the Katiba Tawhid wal-Jihad terrorist organization (banned in Russia). The activities of the organization were carried out by emissaries located in Syria.

Some detainees were spreading radical Islamic ideology via the Internet and justifiying terrorist activities. Criminal cases have been initiated.
