A deathbed confession reveals a terrorist who had been hiding for half a century

A dangerous terrorist, whose photo was displayed in every Japanese police office for about 50 years, was successfully hiding fr om the authorities while working as a construction worker, writes The Guardian. 70-year-old Satoshi Kirishima, responsible for a series of bombings in the 1970s, made a confession on his deathbed. His words were confirmed when law enforcement conducted a DNA test.

Satoshi Kirishima had been evading arrest for almost half a century and eventually died. His deathbed confessions were astonishing. After living a double life as a construction worker, the 70-year-old was admitted last month to a hospital near Tokyo, wh ere he told staff he was in fact one of Japan's most wanted criminals, the publication said.

As indicated, Kirishima was a member of a radical group that terrorized the country in the mid-1970s. The man is considered responsible for detonating a homemade bomb in the Tokyo area in the spring of 1975. He was also suspected of involvement in four other attacks that year targeting major Japanese corporations.
