Security forces eliminated six terrorists in northwestern Pakistan

At least six militants of extremist groups were killed during an anti-terrorist operation by the Pakistani army in the North Waziristan district in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bordering Afghanistan. This was reported in a press release by Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defense of Pakistan (ISPR).

The eliminated extremists took part in killings, extortion and kidnappings of civilians, the ISPR stated.

Radical groups in North and South Waziristan are seeking the establishment of the so-called Islamic State of Waziristan.

Waziristan is located in the Pakistani tribal area on the border with Afghanistan. This high-mountainous region is considered one of Pakistan's hot spots due to the intensification of al-Qaeda militants operating there, as well as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan group and other extremist structures.
