Three terrorists killed and four wounded in clash in northwestern Pakistan

Three terrorists were killed and four others wounded during a clash with security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan, national armed forces reported.

Security forces conducted an intelligence-led operation in Karak district based on reports of the presence of terrorists, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistani Army's press office.

“During the operation, intense exchange of fire took place between the army troops and the terrorists, and as a result three terrorists were killed and four others were injured,” the ISPR said in a statement, adding that a huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives was discovered during the operation.

The eliminated terrorists were actively involved in numerous terror attacks that were targeting law enforcement agencies as well as innocent civilians, the ISPR statement said.

An operation is underway to sweep the area.
