Supporters of terrorism narratives detained in southern Kazakhstan

Two persons suspected of promoting terrorist narratives were detained in Shymkent. This was reported by the press service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

As the agency explained, the detainees were spreading extremist views through social media.

According to the preliminary investigation, one of them previously travelled to foreign countries, where, presumably, he was involved into radical religious ideology.

“A pre-trial investigation is ongoing under Article 256 of the Criminal Code,” the press service of the National Security Committee reported.
