A Mordovian colony inmate receives a new sentence for justifying terrorism

Another sentence was announced to 50-year-old Gennady Perkin from Mordovia. It must be noted that this new crime was committed in prison. This time, Perkin is accused of publicly justifying terrorism; he justified the activities of ISIS terrorist organization to his cellmates.

In 2021, Perkin was arrested for intentionally causing grievous bodily harm, negligently resulting in the death of the victim. He beat his 43-year-old partner to death for her addiction to alcohol.

“The investigative department of the FSB investigated a criminal case against the person involved under Part 1 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Public Justification of Terrorism). The court found the man guilty and, based on the totality of sentences, imposed a sentence of 9 years in prison,” commented the press service of the FSB Directorate for the Republic of Mordovia.
