Kazan citizen sentenced for financing Syrian terrorists

The court sentenced a 23-year-old Kazan resident to 9 years for financing terrorism (Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). This was reported by the press service of the FSB Directorate for the Republic of Tatarstan.

According to the investigation team, the young man had been transferring money to Syria during six months in 2020, to support Da’esh militants. His activities were stopped by FSB officers.
