In the Rostov region, security forces busted an extremist cell

The leader and five active members of a cell of Allya-Ayat extremist organization, banned in Russia, were detained by security forces in the Rostov region. Law enforcement agencies disclosed this on March 27.


The arrest was carried out by officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia for long-range and military transport aviation associations together with the Center for Combating Extremism (CPE) of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Rostov Region.


In total, six suspects were identified and detained, including the leader of the cell and five participants. They were recruiting local residents, their activities were supervised from abroad, and cash flows were also transferred abroad.
