The Taliban call the information about the recruitment of IS militants in Afghanistan exaggerated

Islamic State terrorist group (IS) does not possess the capacity to recruit new fighters in Afghanistan. This was stated by the spokesman of the interim Afghan government created by the radical Taliban movement Zabihullah Mujahid.

According to Mujahid, statements about the activities of IS cells in Afghanistan were made in order to “exaggerate” the threat posed by the group. “Some organizations use the name ISIS, the status of ISIS and exaggerate its significance for their own political purposes,” the TOLO news TV channel quoted a Taliban spokesman as saying. “Some intelligence communities may transmit incorrect information to individual countries and the media, which leads to misunderstandings.”
