The FSB thwarted the activities of three foreigners planning a terrorist attack in the Stavropol Territory, the agency’s Public Relations Center reported.

“The Federal Security Service suppressed the terrorist activities of three citizens of one of the Central Asian countries who planned to commit a terrorist attack by arranging an explosion in one of the crowded places in the Stavropol Territory,” the statement says.

The video recording provided by the service shows how one of the detainees came to the store to buy nails for filling an improvised explosive device. “A whole kilogram?” - the saleswoman asked for clarification and received an affirmative answer.

Next, footage of the arrest of criminals and the seized components of an explosive device was shown.

It is noted that during search at the place of residence of the suspects in the Stavropol region, IED components, chemical substances and destructive elements were discovered and seized.

The investigative department of the regional department of the FSB opened a criminal case under the articles “Preparation for a crime and attempted crime” and “Terrorist Attack.”
