Iraq reports elimination of one of the Islamic State leaders

Iraqi security forces announced the elimination of a senior member of the Islamic State terrorist group, EFE reports citing a communiqué from the Iraqi military.

According to this statement, the person eliminated is Iraqi Samir al-Nimrawi. He was responsible for “operations for the transfer of terrorists, weapons and explosives between Iraq and Syria” within the group.

The militant was eliminated during a joint operation of the Iraqi military and the national special services on the border with Syria.
