A man suspected of preparing a terrorist attack detained in the Rostov region

A man suspected of preparing a terrorist attack was detained in the Rostov region. This was reported by 161.RU with reference to the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Rostov region on April 1.

A resident of Novoshakhtinsk was allegedly a member of a terrorist organization that is banned in the Russian Federation, and, according to the FSB, was preparing himself for a new “assignment.”

“It was established that, while staying in Rostov region, the man contacted a representative of the abovementioned terrorist organization and confirmed his membership, and declared his readiness to commit sabotage and terrorist attacks to serve its interests,” law enforcement agencies report.

The man’s phone, which he used to contact his “colleagues,” was confiscated.

A criminal case has been initiated under the article “Organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in it.”
