Raids to counter terrorism and extremism are carried out in Tashkent

On April 7, the Tashkent City Internal Affairs Directorate, together with other law enforcement agencies, conducted raids in the capital of Uzbekistan to prevent cases related to religious extremism and terrorism.

 

According to the Tashkent City Internal Affairs Directorate, during the raid, 45 searches were carried out in the homes of citizens who had joined extremist radical groups. As a result, the suspects were detained.

 

Over the course of three months, 50 criminal cases related to religious extremism and terrorism were initiated. Also, on these grounds, administrative protocols were drawn up for 188 violations, and measures were taken against 264 people.

 

The Tashkent City Internal Affairs Directorate called on citizens to avoid joining various radical groups and not to disseminate their ideas through social networks, and to always monitor what groups on social networks children join and what content they watch.
