Media: 16 soldiers killed by terrorists in eastern Syria

At least 16 troops of the Syrian army and members of the National Defense Forces (NDF) died at the hands of terrorists in Homs governorate.

As Al Hadath TV channel reported, soldiers and militiamen who were on a military bus were ambushed at night by a group of Islamic State militants (IS, banned in Russia) on a highway in the Al-Teibe area.

A special government unit arrived at the scene and repulsed the terrorists, who retreated deep into the Syrian desert. The wounded military personnel and militiamen were taken to a hospital.
