A terrorist sponsor detained in the Vladimir region

A 24-year-old citizen of one of the Central Asian countries is suspected of raising money to help terrorists. A criminal case was opened against the man, the regional FSB department reported.

According to investigation, the young man, who is adhering to the ideas of radical Islam, decided to provide financial assistance to members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant FTO (designated as terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation). For this purpose, the defendant organized a fundraiser on social media. He met people who shared his views and received money from them to his bank card.

A criminal case was launched against the man under Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – Financing of Terrorism.
