CHINESE OFFICIALS INFORM ON THE LARGEST DDOS-ATACK IN THE NATIONAL HISTORY
Chinese national agency CINC administering the national domain zone.cn called the Sunday DDoS-attack the largest in the national history. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal. The hacker attack on the millions of the registered in domain .cn addresses started at 2 a.m. local time on Sunday, the second more powerful DDoS-atack happened two hours later, at 4 a.m. By Monday the situation has been managed to stabilize.
According to Cloud-Fare focusing on web-site protection from such attacks the DDoS-atack resulted in the decrease of Chinese Internet-traffic by 32%.
Despite blocking of Chinese internet-resources for some short period of time the attack demonstrates clearly that the network infrastructure in China is protected poorly from such threats, even though China has one of the most powerful network filtration, The Wall Street Journal notes.
