A GROUP OF TERRORISTS FROM BANGLADESH DETAINED IN INDIA
Three Bangladeshi citizens suspected of involvement in the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JMB) terrorist group were detained in Kolkata by police, ANI news agency reported on July 11.
Firearms, fake documents, mobile phones, Islamist literature and diaries containing information about the leaders of the group were seized from the detainees.
Militants hid in West Bengal under the guise of fruit and mosquito nets merchants. Two of them are 30 years old, one is 22 years old. The police contacted the Bangladesh authorities for more information on the detainees.
It may need to be reminded that the JMB group was founded in 1998. It operates in Bangladesh and seeks to overthrow the existing political system of the country and create an Islamist state there.
