A suicide truck bomber blew up the military in Pakistan

A suicide bomber rammed a truck loaded with explosives into a military post in northwestern Pakistan. The Associated Press reported this yesterday.

The attack is reported to have taken place in North Waziristan, a region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan. The truck explosion killed five soldiers and two more officers were killed in the ensuing shootout.

The military succeeded in eliminating six attackers, some of whom were wearing suicide vests.

The newly established militant group Jaish-e-Fursan-e-Muhammad claimed responsibility for the attack.

The military reported that the operation to clear the area was ongoing.
