FSB detained an adherent of radical Islam in the Kirov region

In the Kirov region, a man was identified who was publicly supporting terrorism. This was reported by the press service of the regional FSB Directorate.

According to the agency, the man publicly promoted and justified terrorist activities, including the use of suicide bombers, on social media. He also called for acts of violence motivated by religious hatred and hostility.

As a result, the suspect was detained. The investigative department of the FSB launched criminal cases under Article 205.2 (“Public calls to carry out terrorist attacks and public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism”) and Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Public calls to carry out extremist activities”).

“We would like to remind you that for these crimes taken together, the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of over 10 years,” added the press service of the FSB.
