Four people were convicted in Rostov for preparing a terrorist attack in Stavropol

In Rostov, four residents of Stavropol were sentenced for participating in IS (terrorist organization,  banned in Russia) and preparing a terrorist attack. This was reported by the press service of the Southern District Military Court.

On October 1, 2022, T. Bukharov, A. Irkkuev and A. Guseinov, while in Stavropol, voluntarily joined Islamic State banned foreign terrorist organization, sending an audio message with their pledge of allegiance to a FTO participant. In addition, Bukharov, Irkkuev and Guseinov, acting together with M. Irkkueva, on October 3, 2022, entered into a preliminary conspiracy with a member of the IS to commit a terrorist attack in Stavropol, Interfax quotes the press service.

The convicts bought the necessary components to make explosives and later manufactured the improvised explosive device. Fortunately, they did not have time to complete their criminal intent. They were detained on October 6, 2022.

Bukharov and Irkkuev were sentenced to 14 years, Guseinov to 15 years in a maximum security colony, and Irkkueva to 6 years in a general regime colony.
